For all her adult life, Indulekha has been drawn to the artistic and spiritual traditions of India. Her journey began at the age of 18, when a solo trip to visit a friend turned into five transformative years immersed in the devotional culture of Vrindavan, North India. Living in an ashram surrounded by renunciates, she explored sacred texts, visited holy sites, and experienced the power of parikrama — the circumambulation of sacred places.
In those years, she discovered a deeper layer of reality, one where bliss and inner peace were not distant ideals, but qualities inherent to the soul. This foundational experience shaped her understanding of life and planted the seeds of a lifelong spiritual path.
Upon returning to England, she immersed herself in Indian classical dance (Bharata Natyam) and Carnatic music, both deeply spiritual disciplines rooted in devotion. For years, she dedicated herself fully to these practices, eventually becoming a teacher. But a series of physical challenges led her to pause dance — and turn to yoga not just as a support, but as a new way forward.
Yoga became her bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. She completed her 200-hour training in the Shivananda tradition in India and went on to study Rocket, Yin, Sound Healing, and Advanced Teacher Trainings in London.
What makes her teaching unique is this blend of physical awareness, spiritual insight, and devotional depth. As a practising Vaishnava Hindu, she sees yoga as a sacred lifestyle rather than a physical workout. Her classes — whether Vinyasa or Rocket — are an invitation to move with intention, breathe with presence, and remember the deeper truth of who we are.
Indulekha lives in Watford, Hertfordshire, and offers classes that are rooted in tradition, guided by breath, and open to anyone seeking both strength and stillness.
“Yoga is not just movement — it is remembrance. A return to the soul through breath, body, and silence.”
